The Blessed Assurance of the Gospel - Seventh-day Adventist

 This is a message that points us to the blessed assurance that the Good News of the Gospel brings us. This blessed assurance not only brings joy to our hearts, but it helps us to share the joy of the Lord with others. May you be encouraged through the study of this important topic. The following is the Scripture outline we used at the Chino Seventh-day Adventist Church where this message was presented.

  1. 2 Timothy 1: 12. “… I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
  1. John 17: 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
  1. Luke 11: 11-13.  If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
  1. Hebrews 2: 9. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
  1. Hebrews 2: 17.  Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation [atonement] for the sins of the people.
  1. I Corinthians 1: 30 He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
  1. 2 Corinthians 5: 14 The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;
  1. 1 Peter 1: 3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
  1. John 3: 16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
  1. 1 Timothy 6: 16. He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality…to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
  1. Philippians 1: 6. Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
  1. Hebrews 12: 2 “The Author and Finisher of our faith.”
  1. Colossians 1: 21-23. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel…
  1. Romans 1: 16 “Gospel is power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.”
  1. Romans 9: 30 – 10: 4. What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:  “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, and whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
  1. Genesis 15: 6 “(Abram) believed in the LORD, and (the LORD) accounted it to him for righteousness.”
  1. Romans 10: 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
  1. Zephaniah 3: 17. The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
  1. Isaiah 32: 17. The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
  1. Isaiah 54: 10. “The mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
  1. 1 John 5: 11-13. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
  1. John 11: 25 “I am the resurrection and the life…”
