Love Is Patient and Love Is Kind | Chino 7th day Adventist
In this message presented at the Chino Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship, we explore the question of how we can have more patience and demonstrate more of God’s kindness.
1 Corinthians 13 is more than just a passage that is commonly read at weddings. It’s really about embracing the Good News of God’s true character and then allowing the Lord to reveal Himself in our daily lives. God is incredibly patient and unceasingly kind and because that’s what He’s like through His abiding presence we can be more like Him.
The principles in this chapter, when lived out, make a solid foundation for a great Christian life. And that’s what Jesus wants for each of us. He doesn’t want us living in the low lands. He wants us to enjoy the mountain tops in our walk with Him. And the path to that mountain top is the ‘agape love trail’.
It’s a narrow path. And it’s never overcrowded, though we wish it were. And the views of God and His eternal plan that we get from that trail can take our breath away. It’s like getting to experience a little bit of heaven right here on earth. And who among us couldn’t handle more of that?
After establishing the priority of God’s agape love, Paul then begins to define that love for us in very practical terms.
